2019 Running Stats

There aren’t a lot of impressive running stats to report this year as I spent 9 months pregnant (January – September) and then the rest of the year recovering from giving birth, but I did run several races while pregnant and set four new pregnancy PRs, which I’m totally counting.

Total miles in 2019: 1135 miles

For comparison, in 2014 during Cullen’s pregnancy I ran 1119 miles. I can’t believe how close the mileage was.

Average daily miles: 3.1 miles

Average weekly miles: 21 miles

Highest weekly mileage: 60 miles (during the 5th week of my pregnancy)

Longest run: 18 miles (at 23 weeks pregnant)

Places I ran: Anchorage, Alaska; Kona, Hawaii; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Portland, Oregon

Races run:

4/21/19 – Alaska Heart Run 5K (Anchorage, AK) – 21:05

5/25/19 – Trent Waldron Half Marathon (Anchorage, AK) – 1:35:31

5/31/19 – Twilight 6K (Anchorage, AK) – 25:13

6/8/19 – Alaska Run for Women – 5 miles (Anchorage, AK) – 34:31

6/22/19 – Anchorage Mayor’s Half Marathon (Anchorage, AK) – 1:40:45

7/21/19 – Hightail Quarter Marathon (Anchorage, AK) – 47:08

8/18/19 – Spenard Roadhouse 5K (Anchorage, AK) – 21:48

12/31/19 – Resolution Run (Anchorage, AK)

PRs: 4 pregnancy PRs (which I’m totally counting this year!)

Favorite race: Hightail Quarter Marathon where I placed 3rd at 6 months pregnant

Biggest high: having a successful VBAC (not running-related but there weren’t a lot of running-related highs)

Biggest low: not getting to train seriously this year, but I did get a pretty cute baby because of it, so I’ll just have to enjoy my training this year now!

Hardest workout: running pregnant–PERIOD! Every trimester was hard in it’s own way, so it felt like like a marathon each day running. Ha!

Favorite memory: running in Hawaii and my birthday run with friends

Coldest run: -15*F (real feel) the ambient air temperature was 1*F – Anchorage, AK

Hottest run: ~80*F in Hawaii

Pairs of running shoes I own: 16

See ya 2019! You’ve been good, but I’m ready to run more and chase down those PRs in 2020. Or at least set a solid base for some big goals in the future!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
