My Lululemon Favorites + THE Best Running Tights

I’ll be the first to admit that I love my lululemon clothes. I don’t know what it is, but I’ll reach for my lululemon items more than almost any other brand. Yes, they are spendy, but I definitely get my money’s worth out of them. I wear them a ton, they hold up over multiple wears and washes, and if I take good care of them, I can often resell them for a decent price.

I am sharing some of my favorite lululemon favorites including the absolute best pair of running tights I have ever owned, a cute + supportive sports bra, and the perfectly oversized sweatshirt that I am living in right now. I am also highlighting some of my favorite tights/leggings. I’ve had quite a few different pairs over the years, and these are tried-and-true my go-tos for casual wear, yoga, and running.

Here’s a quick run-down of my favorites:

My Favorite Athleisure Tights
These are THE softest pair of tights I have ever own, which make them the perfect kick-around, lounge tight/legging. I wore these throughout my entire pregnancy and continue to wear them postpartum. They weren’t tight at all on my belly when I was pregnant, and they retained their shape nicely and didn’t get stretched out at all, so I can wear them postpartum.

I have the Incognito Camo Multi Grey but am obsessed with the Cassis (maroon) color for fall. I don’t wear these for running as I’ve heard they can pill, but I will use these for a not-so-intense weight lifting session at the gym.

My Favorite Running Tight
I have tried far too many running tights over the years, and these are hands-down my favorite! They do not budge when I am running, the material is super lightweight and has a barely-there feel (but also passes the squat test), and there are several pockets to stash your things in. I love the 7/8ths length but they also come in several different lengths if you need a petite length or a longer inseam.

This pattern is from a few years ago, but I also own them in the black and would love the Activate Floral Multi floral pattern. Seriously, they are worth every penny!

Yoga + Athleisure Tights
This pair of tights are a one-stop shop for casual wear and yoga. I do wear these tights for running, but they slide down in a very small way. This doesn’t stop me from wearing them on run, but since they aren’t designed for running in the first place, I really can’t complain. Instead, I will wear these casually, to the gym, and for yoga. I love the 7/8th length and the fun colors.

The Warmest Running Jacket
When I discovered these down running jackets several years ago, I finally stayed warm on my winter runs, plus I no longer had to wear three layers to say somewhat warm. I love this jacket I own it in 4 different versions. Ha! But seriously I wear one of these jackets every time it is below 20*F.

The Perfect Oversized Sweatshirt
This is my most recent purchase, and I was a little leery to pay so much for a sweatshirt, but I am in love with it, and I never want to take it off. Sadly, all of the sizes are almost sold out in this color. (Go figure! Seriously, if you want something from lululemon, you have snatch it up right away, or it is gone forever.) I do love the sweatshirt this Magenta Glow for spring, and you can’t go wrong with a classic black or gray.

I also bought these tights, in the ‘wee are from space nimbus battleship’ color, and I see they, too, are almost sold out in all the colors! These tights are also a great pair for casual wear or yoga. I don’t see myself wearing them too much for running as they aren’t designed for it, but I may give them a whirl and try them out.

My Favorite Sports Bra
I am obsessed with this sports bra. It is cute, supportive, and has never caused me to chafe. I have it in a couple different colors, and they are the first ones I reach for as soon as they are clean. It comes in a wide variety of colors and patterns, and I think the two-toned color of the Wee Are From Space Nimbus Battleship/Brier Rose one is especially cute.

This sports bra is a very close second. It has a mesh panel on the back to help with ventilation in that high-sweat area, and I find it just as supportive.

Energy Bra

My Favorite Running Shorts
Good running shorts seem to be a little easier to come by, but I still have my favorites. These are one of them! I love that the waistband doesn’t ride up, the leg opening is not too big or too small, and there are multiple pockets in them. The waistband is also super stretchy, and I was able to wear these comfortably throughout my pregnancy. Plus, they are very flattering on everyone! I am wearing the 2.5″ version in the photo below, but they also come in a 4″ version.

Favorite Running Tank
I am picky about my tank tops. I want something that isn’t going to be too tight and show off any pudge, but I also don’t want something too lose and unflattering. This is one of my go-tos during the summer months. I also wore it during my pregnancy since it was long enough to go over the bump for most of my pregnancy.

Comment below with your favorite lululemon item in case I’m missing something. Also, I hope you snag some of these items because they are definitely worth every penny!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

OMG, so many great ones. A few of my essentials:
The Speed Up Tight: These are a mid-rise running tight and I enjoy them because they are a little thicker. Great for cooler temps.
The Ready To Rulu Jogger: Perfect for lounging, and a few colors (GARNET!) are on their mark down page right now.
The On The Fly Crop Pant and Jogger (Luxtreme, not Woven): These are so great for travel but also can be paired to make a really cute outfit. Dress up or down!

Are the Speed Up Tights similar to the brushed tights because they never keep my legs warm. :/ I think I’ve tried on the cropped pants but not the joggers.

No, the Speed Ups are thicker material, whereas the brushed tights are just made to have a “fleece-like feel”. There’s really no extra material added to them, so it’s kind of a gimmick in my opinion (to be probably much too honest.) For heavy duty warmth, I would recommend any of the actual fleece lined tights. I also swear by the fleece lined joggers.

That makes total sense that the brushed aren’t thicker!! I’ve always wondered about that!! Now I need to try the Speed-Up tights. I remember you telling me about the joggers for cold-weather running. I’m just used to running in a tight now. Hmm. . . .

Thanks to your review, I finally got the Lululemon Down For It All jacket. I scooped one up on the sale you mentioned and I love it! I got the midnight blue (I think that is the color). It matches my biathlon uniform so much someone thought it was a team jacket, haha! Maybe all of us on ladies team can get them next season if they still have that color. Anyway, it work for skate skiing in the cold too and makes a perfect warm up jacket before a race.
I’m still wearing this on early morning and evening walks with the dog (April/early May) and found that those side pockets perfectly hold a canister of bear spray. File that under things Alaskans worry about.

Yeah! I’m so glad you love it as well! I’ve recommended it so many times–it’s worth every penny! (But it also doesn’t hurt when it is on sale.) 🙂
