Friday Favorites

Happy Friday!

I know for a lot of people they look forward to the weekend because it means a break from work, but for me it means I go back to work, which is actually fine since I love what I do.

I’m featuring a few things I am currently loving right now including a safer hand soap, a pair of cute maternity jeans, and some new Brooks running clothing items I recently purchased. The Nordstrom anniversary sale is still going on through the weekend, so I highlight some awesome fall pieces that are still available. I also talk about the latest skin care line from Beautycounter that is doing radical things for so many people’s skin. I just started using the products myself this week and can’t wait to give a full review in a couple of weeks.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend–now here are some of my Friday favorites!

Everyone Hand Soap
I try to purchase cleaner and safer products for all or at least most of our household items, and I was excited when I found this Everyone Hand Soap at Target. I’ve tried two different scents, and I love both of them. They work well, and I like that they don’t list “fragrance” as an ingredient but an actual fragrance such as orange peel oil or lavender oil–depending upon the scent. (It is also available on Amazon if your Target doesn’t sell it, or you don’t live close to a Target.)

Maternity jeans
I don’t fit into any of my regular jeans, so maternity jeans it is. I did pick up this pair at H&M for a pretty decent price. I love the distressing, the raw hem, and the lighter wash for summer. They have a full belly band, which will get me through these last couple months of pregnancy; however, the full-belly band has never stayed up that well for me. This pair from Madewell are still a favorite of mine and the most comfortable maternity pair I’ve owned.

Brooks Running Clothes
Brooks was one of the sponsors for the Hightail Half & Quarter Marathon, so there were a lot of great Brooks apparel items that were brought into the store for the event. I got this tank, a really cute sports bra, and these shorts because I am a sucker for camo print and rose gold accents. I also purchased this long sleeve top that has been perfect for my bump, and it has a subtle opening in the back, which I wore with the sports bra. (FYI – The long sleeve is on sale!)

Pajamas
I used to wear a basic t-shirt and cotton shorts to bed, but there is something about having actual pajamas that make me feel less frumpy. I purchased these pajamas from Target in the non-maternity section, but they are perfect for a bump. I’m not a fan of tight things on my belly all the time, so often at night I prefer a loose-fitting top, and this pajama set is perfect for that. Plus, I know it will be ideal for middle-of-the-night nursing sessions and postpartum as well.

Garmin Vivomove Watch
You guys! I am obsessed with this watch. I mean, how can you not be–it is so pretty! This is a Garmin product, which blew me away when I first saw it on my coworker. It tracks my steps, stairs I’ve climbed, heart rate, stress level, calories burnt, and I can see texts I receive on it. It can be worn to workout, but I only plan on using it for casual wear. I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on it so far!

Beautycounter Countertime
The latest and greatest skin care line from Beautycounter–called Countertime–features a safe alternative to retinol, which means it is non-toxic and suitable for those who are pregnant (me!) and nursing. It is Beautycounter’s anti-aging line and going to replace our Rejuvenating Regimen eventually.

You can purchase all six products in the Countertime Collection here, which is discounted by 10%, or you can purchase items a la carte. And as far as which products to start with, it all depends upon your skin type and what may be missing from your skin care routine.

Just last week, Beautycounter also released the Countertime Regimen Set, which includes five products (all but the eye cream) at a little lower price-point with a couple of the items having a smaller quantity but still enough to last quite a while. You can purchase that here.

Nordstrom Sale
The Nordstrom sale is still going strong, but prices do go up on Monday, so don’t wait to get some of these hot items for fall. (Side note: I saw leaves changing colors on my bush in my front yard. No!)

Nike Sweatshirt (in black)

Zella Leggings (in a full-length tight)

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and are enjoying these (what feels like) the last weeks/month before school starts and fall comes!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
