WEARING // cardigan | white tank | jeans | shoes

It’s time for me to pull out all the fall apparel here–cozy sweaters, my favorite jeans, scarves, and boots. I am loving this cardigan for staying warm on these fall days. I love the length, the material isn’t too thick or so thin it isn’t even warm, and it’s currently on sale for less than $28. It comes in 4 other colors, and I want all the other colors too. I also snagged this white tank for layering, and it’s perfect. I love length, the v-neck opening, and I know I’ll be able to wear it with so many other tops as well.

LISTENING // Michele Gonzalez on the Ali on the Run Show

I have followed Michele on Instagram for a couple of years now, and I love the she is so real and authentic in her posts. She isn’t trying to prove anything to anyone–she genuinely loves running, puts her family first, and she isn’t out to impress anyone even though she has 84,000 followers on Instagram. During this interview, Ali and Michele discuss their pregnancies, Michele talks about how she balances working full time and training for marathons, and she also shares advice on returning to running after having a baby–as this is her third child.

READING // Let Your Mind Run by Deena Kastor

I love a good running autobiography! Deena shares so much about the mental side of running in her book Let Your Mind Run and how much it has played a role in her successes. I think I have always been a mentally tough runner, but I am learning Deena takes her mental strategy and positivity to a different level–practicing positive thinking outside running and in her daily life. I have already recommended this book to many people, and I am excited to see if I can incorporate some of these tactics into my own running.

USING // Beautycounter Lip Products

I kind of have an obsession with putting products on my lips–after brushing my teeth, for running errands, before bed, even before going for a run I’ll put some balm on my lips. Since switching to safer, non-toxic products by Beautycounter, I am even more cognizant about what I’m putting on my lips since I know inevitably I will end up swallowing products that are put on my lips. I use the Lip Conditioners before bed and before a run. I love the Color Intense Lipsticks for date night, church, or a special occasions. And the Sheer Lipsticks and Lip Glosses are great for when I’m running errands or just want a hint of color on my lips.

EATING // Couscous Summer Salad

I know most people have moved past summer foods, but my sister first made this Summer Couscous Salad for me when I was staying with her in Minnesota, and it was so good I had to make my own batch when I got back. The combination of flavors was amazing, and they made great leftovers the next day. She also made the Summer Bliss Bowls with Sweet Potato Falafel and Jalapeno Ranch, which was a big hit in my house as well. (By the way, these are both Pinch of Yum recipes, and I have yet to be disappointed with any of her recipes.)

I have the weekend off from work because Craig, Cullen, and I are headed down to the Kenai Peninsula for the Kenai River Marathon Relay on Sunday. It is a really small but fun event that I have done several times now. It will be so nice to get some family time, meet up with our friends, and enjoy running in the beautiful fall colors!
