32nd Week of Pregnant Running

I hope you had an enjoyable Labor Day. I’m sad that it signifies the last day of summer though. Summer always goes by way too fast.

Yesterday Craig and I slept in, which is always nice. (Have to enjoy it before the baby comes, right?) For breakfast, I had a spinach smoothie and a toasted English muffin with peanut butter on. Afterwards I Facetimed with my family and showed them the progress on the baby’s room. It is coming together nicely, and it is making me very excited!

In the afternoon, Craig, Sadie, and I went on a hike. I requested a flat hike. While I could have done a steep hike, I definitely find myself getting out of breath sooner than I used to. We hiked in the Bird Creek area, which was wooded and scenic. Sadie had fun chasing the birds.

That evening we went to our friends for some legit Southern BBQ. (They are both from South Carolina.) We had fun hanging out and walking YouTube videos.

Tonight Craig and I had our first birthing class at Geneva Woods. I was a little apprehensive that it would be a repeat of most things I’ve already learned from friends, family, and reading various books and blogs, but I was honestly surprised how much I learned. I really like the instructor and feel like we are going to get a lot out of it.

I am still running 4 – 5 days a week, 2-4 miles at a time. Obviously I don’t have the endurance at 32 weeks pregnant, but I try to listen to my body and do what it does allow me to do.

I thought by now I would feel uncomfortable running with a soccer ball in front of me, but I honestly don’t feel it when I run. I usually have to stop and walk because of cramps in my abdomen, back pain, or most recently discomfort in my hip flexors.

Workouts/Running at 32 Weeks Pregnant ~ August 25 – 31

Monday

3 miles/26:30

Ran part of this with a friend (until I had to take a walk break).

Tuesday

1.25 miles/14:18 + 30 minutes weight lifting

Now I remember why I don’t even attempt to run with our dog. 45 minute of (slow!) running and walking.

Wednesday

60 minutes yoga + 20 minutes of walking the pooch

Thursday

3 miles/27:0i

I was good for the first 1.5 miles before my hip flexors started to bother me.

Friday

30 minutes of swimming

Saturday

4 miles/38:00

I felt decent for how I am feeling these days. I sure love my morning runs, but it was chilly out there–45*F. Ran the entire last mile!

Sunday

1.75 miles/16:231

I forgot my support belt, and I could tell. Luckily I was just getting in a little mileage so I could have an even total number for the week. I’m too type A.

Total: 13 miles

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
