What a busy week and weekend it has been. I’ve been running around like a chicken with my head cut off trying to get everything done this weekend. But thankfully this blog post is the last thing on my to-do list and then it is off to bed!
Here’s a glimpse at what I’ve been up to.
I enjoy Bikram yoga, but the 90 minutes of class get to be kind of long, so this past week I took two different 60 minute classes and loved them! They were the perfect length, and I enjoyed mixing up the yoga poses and having different instructors.
I’ve tried several yoga studios in Anchorage and Anchorage Yoga is by far my favorite. The only downside is that the classes are filled to the brim, which makes doing some of the poses a little more difficult.
Today (Sunday) Craig and I went to the Anchorage Museum because it was free admission day! Woohoo!!
We went to the Body Worlds exhibit, which was pretty cool. They had several cadavers displaying the various muslces, all the vital organs, the nervous system, and blood vessels.
One of my favorite parts was where they had pictures of families from around the world showing the amount and type of food they consumed in one week.
Having fun taking my picture on the outside of the building.
We got a fresh layer of snow Saturday night, so everything is white again. (We hardly had any snow before this, but it was bitter cold.) I think my family in Minnesota has more snow than we do though!
On Friday at work, I decided to be extra festive and wear a costume. People were supposed to wear Christmas themed apparel: ties, socks, shirts, etc. But I decided to step up and bring my ‘A’ game by dressing up as a Christmas tree.
And as far as running. . . .well, unfortunately, I have not made much progress in that department. I ran 3 miles Friday morning and 3 miles again on Saturday morning. Friday was good, Saturday my glute was bothering me.
I do have an appointment with a physical therapist tomorrow (Monday), so I hope he can help me. I’m desperate! I am also trying to get in a with a sports massage therapist and give acupuncture a try.
Alright, sadly that’s all the time I have. But I will write more later! I have A Runner’s Christmas Wish List post coming up, so if you need a gift for a runner, check back mid-week!
