No sleeping in for me this morning. I had a dentist appointment to be at by 8 a.m.
Prior to leaving, I had a small bowl of Wheat Chex with soymilk.
I really dislike going to the dentist, but today’s experience wasn’t nearly as bad as it usually is.
My teeth are really sensitive, so any time the hygienist starts scraping to get the plaque off, I start to cringe and clench my fists together. However, the hygienist seemed to be a lot more gentle today, and it wasn’t as painful.
I even learned something today while having my teeth cleaned. The last time I went to the dentist, a different hygienist told me I had bad staining and asked if I drank a lot of coffee or tea. I said tea, and I was surprised to learn that it isn’t just black tea that causes staining but green teas as well. This time, I asked the hygienist about it again, and she told me that teas are worse than coffee for staining your teeth!! I was shocked, I had no idea!! I figured I was doing such a good thing for my body by drinking tea but in reality there is a downside to it as well. However, she said not to worry about it because most of the staining came off today and my teeth are actually pretty white.
After my appointment, I went for a run.

Time: 45 minutes
Yesterday’s 17* was like a “heat-wave” compared to today’s 3*. I was really cold–as usual!
I even had 4 layers on my top half:
1. base, thermal turtleneck top
2. fleece pull-over
3. windbreaker jacket
4. thick (The North Face Denali) fleece jacket
I didn’t plan on wearing the 4th layer but within 30 seconds of starting, I turned around, and ran back to my car to grab my jacket. Brrr!!
And I barely broke a sweat wearing all this clothing! I’ve also started wearing my thick ski mittens in order to keep my hands some-what warm.
When I got back, all I wanted was a hot bowl of oatmeal.
I really like iced coffee with my hot oatmeal. Kind of odd since it is cold, but I think I like the hot/cold combo.
Yeah, for natural light!!
1/4 cup Scottish oatmeal
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon chia seeds
1 teaspoon ground flax
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
dash of salt
pure maple syrup
sunflower seed butter
Time to take a shower and try to get warm!!
