Best Finds from the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale

It’s that time of year again when Nordstrom-enthusists go crazy for the Anniversary Sale. Even if you aren’t a die-hard Nordstrom fan, you should still keep scrolling through because there is a reason people get excited for this sale: really good discounts on fall essentials–not last year’s winter clothes or close-out items from the past, but things that don’t normally go on sale and items that are going to be hot this fall.

I’m not saying you should be wishing for fall, but if you are going to get a few basics for your wardrobe, now is the time to do it because these items sell out fast! So many items have sold out already but keep checking back because things do get restocked!

Right now those who have a Nordstrom credit card can shop during the early access sale. If you don’t have a Nordstrom credit card, you can start shopping on Friday, the 19th. There are usually still really great finds come that time, so check back then as I plan to update this post with more of my favorites as the sale goes on.

I did go to the Nordstrom here in Anchorage to try on a few outfits, and while they had some really great items, they didn’t have a lot of what I wanted to try on. (P.S. If you haven’t heard, the Nordstrom store here is closing soon, so I’m sure they aren’t bringing in a lot of new items.) I did my best to give you an idea of what size to go with since brands can vary so much. I thought most things were true to size (TTS), but honestly, it was hard with the bump, so double check the website for a sizing suggestion which is always given on each page and very helpful.

So many great things, where to even start! Let’s start with sweaters because who doesn’t love a good, chunky, oversized sweater for the fall and winter?!

This gray v-neck sweater was much cuter on than I thought it would be. It is the perfect amount of being oversized, and I love the balloon sleeves. Right now it is available in a really pretty marbled coral color in most sizes, and I would actually get the pink over the gray since I already have a gray sweater.

It had a deep v-cut, so I would suggest layering this cami underneath. And for $30 you can’t go wrong–the sleeves were the perfect length and it was soft and easy to pair with your favorite denim.

BP. sweater | $30 | Size: small

Madewell jeans | $85 | Size: 26

Steve Madden loafer | $60 | Size: 9 (TTS – true to size)

So many great sweaters including this crazy-soft cardigan everyone raves about, a lightweight sweater for $26, this chunky cable-knit sweater, and several funnel necks that have already sold out.

It is hard to see my shoes in the above photo, but I am wearing a studded loafer that I am in love with. They are super comfortable and work well for those of us who have wider feet. (Me! haha!) I love that they could be dressed up or down and be worn to work or for a casual date night.

I have wanted a moto jacket for years, and I might just have to finally pick this one up. Plus you can’t beat the $65 price tag. There is also this one that is very similar that I might like even more.

Cullen picked out the leopard print cami, and he was legitimately upset that I didn’t buy it.

Black moto jacket | $65 | Size: small

Leopard print cami | $26 | Size: small

AG Boyfriend-fit jeans | $129 | Size: 27

Vince Camuto booties | $99 | Size: 9

I knew this cardigan would sell out fast as it was gone within the first day of the sale. But honestly keep checking back because sometimes things get restocked. I am wearing a large in this picture, which is why it looks huge. I would normally wear an XS, which would make it look much more fitted.

But can we talk about these booties.?! These pointy-toe booties with a cut-out on the side scream fall. Plus they are less than $100 and the perfect color for everything!

Madewell cardigan | $65 | Size: XS

Madewell Jeans | $85 | Size: 26

White v-neck tee | $12 | Size: medium (for the bump)

Vince Camuto booties | $99 | Size: 9

Here’s another look at the booties. And honestly the picture doesn’t even do justice. They are so cute, chic, and perfect for all types of outfits for the fall. If you were going to get one bootie for the fall, make it these.

Check out all my favorite shoes in this sale including Hunter boots, a pair of Sorels that I wear to death, and the studded loafer I featured above.

This is such a “me” outfit and one that I basically live in as a stay-at-home mom. The tee is only $12 and these jeans are $85, both great staples that will not go out of style.

Stripes + distressed jeans + slip-ons are my jam!

Striped v-neck tee | $12 | Size: medium (for the bump)

Madewell Jeans | $85 | Size: 26

Gray slip-ons | $65 | Size: 9

Both of the jeans in these pictures I loved, and if I didn’t need maternity jeans they would have come home with me. But alas I will have to just oogle over the cute denim until I can wear regular jeans again.

Who doesn’t love a good plaid shirt for fall?! This one is a Rails knock-off by Treasure & Bond. It was super comfy and everything flannel shirt should be. I can’t remember what size I’m wearing in this shirt, but I would stick to your normal size. This plaid shirt is also another cute option.

Treasure & Bond plaid shirt | $45 | Size: small

AG Boyfriend-fit jeans | $129 | Size: 27

Gray slip-ons | $65 | Size: 9

Update: I went to the store a few days after publishing this initial post to try on a few athleisure outfits at Nordstrom. Honestly, I wasn’t impressed with most of the selection in the store (at least here in Anchorage), but I did manage to pull together a couple of outfits that I loved.

I could live in this Nike sweatshirt–super cozy and the sleeves were nice and long. I sized up to a large for the bump, and it was perfect because the length was nice and long. I love a good 7/8th length tight, and these tights were incredibly comfortable. I haven’t run in Nikes for years (since junior high!), but I finally think they are making quality running shoes and are more performance-based rather than just looks-based. I was really surprised with how comfortable these Nikes felt, and I wanted to take them for a run.

This was another sweatshirt that was super cozy with a high-low hem and went perfectly with these Zella tights that have a really fun pattern. (There’s a better picture below.) These Adidas shoes were really cute and comfortable for casual wear, however I would never wear them for running.

Here’s a better look at the pattern of the Zella tights.

There are a lot more cute items online including this Patagonia pull-over, the most popular leggings, a really cute tank, and fun tights.

And here are just a few accessories to round out this blog post.

FYI – I do get credit if you purchase things with my links. It isn’t a ton of money, and I would still be sharing my favorites with you even if I didn’t get anything. For years I shared my favorites without compensation, so this is just a little way to give a little value to my time. Thanks for following along!

Happy shopping, and I’ll be updating this page throughout the sale as I find more favorites, or if I make it back to the store to try more outfits on.
