Black Friday Sales – 2018

Edited: This post has been updated to include Cyber Monday Sales at the end of the post!

I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Craig and I participated in our annual Turkey Trot 5K in downtown Anchorage.

We were both happy with our performance as Craig ran an adulthood PR of 28:44, and I ran course PR of 20:02 (6:26 pace) 2.5 weeks after the NYC Marathon. It was good enough for me to place 2nd among a couple high school girls. Ha! I was also first in my age group and won a pie for my efforts.

After the race we went to my in-law’s for a turkey dinner complete with all of the traditional sides–green bean casserole, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, dinner rolls (made by me), an arugula salad (made by Craig), pumpkin pie, apple pie, and the pecan pie I won. I also FaceTimed with my family in Minnesota, and then we crashed at 9:00p.m.

THE biggest shopping day of the year is upon us. I hope you are ready! There are seriously so many good sale I’m having a really hard time deciding where to spend my money. Here are my picks for this year’s Black Friday sales including casual clothes, some of my favorite running retailers, and my favorite skincare products!

J.Crew Factory & J.Crew

J.Crew Factory has an additional 40-50% with the code ADD2CART on their already-reduced prices. I bought this hat, scarf, wool turtleneck, and wool skirt last year and wear them all the time. I would love the hat in white this year and think this crewneck sweater is a great, timeless staple.

J.Crew has 50% off with the code TGIF, which is crazy because they never used to have sales! I really want this wool parka jacket,  and this tissue turtle neck shirt looks like an awesome staple to have in your closet. I am a sucker for cute flannel pajama pants, and these are especially cute and fun for the holidays.

Nordstrom

Nordstrom really knows how to kill it with their holiday sales. There are so many things I don’t know where to start: this Free People tunic (40% off) is definitely on my wish list as well as a designer purse like this Kate Spade one (40% off). And who can go wrong with a pair of booties for less than $60 and a pair of cute waterproof boots for under $100.

Loft

Get 50% off with the code FRIYAY at Loft. I purchased several things from last year’s Black Friday sale and still love everything I got. I have a sweater dress very similar to this one, and I wish this cold should sweater was still available because I wear it all the time. I’ve got my eye on this classy funnel neck coat and this scalloped layering tank.

Backcountry

If you love Patagonia, check out some of the items Backcountry has for sale on their website. I have several Patagonia pieces that I love, and this jacket and this pull-over are on my wish list.

Old Navy

I’ve been busying more clothes from Old Navy recently–they are really upping their game! I bought this cardigan and this ruffle tank this fall and wear it all the time. I love this tank, and who can go wrong with a pair of comfy pajama pants for $6.00.

Oiselle

Oiselle definitely has some of my favorite running gear. Right now I have been eyeing this jacket and these tights, and this wool shirt that looks like it could be worn casually too. I just bought this top (pictured below) that I am obsessed with, but it is sold out in the XS and S, so if you want those sizes in this ‘Stone’ color, use this link.

I am also obsessed with the epitome Oiselle top–their Flyte Long Sleeve. It is very similar to the Lululmeon Swiftly Long Sleeve, but the Oiselle one is a little thicker and the sleeves aren’t quite so tight. I am also currently loving this hat for winter runs.

Rabbit

Rabbit running also has some cute running clothes, and they are currently offering 20% off on order under $100, 30% off $100+, 40% off $400. I want a pair of these shorts in the black/very berry polka, but they are all sold out in my size.

New Balance

My funnel neck sweatshirt is 20% off as well as these running tights, which I wore for the Turkey Trot yesterday. They are both very comfortable, and I’ve gotten quite a few compliments on this top in particular. Plus, my favorite casual athletic shoes are nearly half off with free shipping.  New Balance has a lot of other great running gear, so check them out.

Sarah Marie Design Studio

Sarah Marie Design Studio has the best gifts for runners–and fun unique items like a sweatshirt/hoodie dress, press-on nails for some of the bigger marathons, fun sayings on shirts, and a bunch of gifts for the guys now too. I still love my sweatshirt and want about 10 more things including the hoodie dress and this sweatshirt is funny. Use BF2018 for 20% off your order.

Enso Rings

I love my Enso rings and wear them all the time when running, weight lifting, or working out. I have 5 diffrent colors in the Pyramid Stackable Silicone Ring that I mix-and-match, which is fun, and I have been eyeing this ring for some time. Right now everything on their site is 25% off, so I might have to buy Craig a ring since his other one is ripping. (It is not from Enso.)

Beautycounter

All of my skin care items are from Beautycounter, and I can honestly say I have never been so happy with my skin before. You can read my (updated) skincare and make-up posts by clicking on the respective link.

Right now Beautycounter is offering 15% off your order (minimum $50) and FREE shipping. (I don’t even get free shipping as a consultant!) The holiday line is filled with so many great gifts for yourself, the teenage girl, teachers/day care provider, friends, the minimalist mom, babies, and even something for the guys.

I purchased this gift set for a gift, gifted myself the special edition Cleansing Balm that is 23% bigger (and a better value) already, and am putting this eyeshadow palette on my wish list for Christmas.

I am off to run some errands, do a little Black Friday shopping in town (fingers crossed it’s not crazy), and then come back home and decorate for Christmas!

Here are a few Cyber Monday Sales that caught my eye!

New Balance

They increased their percentage off and now have 25% off their items. These casual shoes I wear weekly are $45, and my funnel neck sweatshirt that’s been a hot item is now $60. I also have these tights that I love, and this sports bra has been on my wish list.

Nordstrom

So many good things at Nordstrom–everything from Sorel boots that I own to a cute scarf for $15 to my favorite v-neck t-shirt for less than $14.

Madewell

I have one item from Madewell, but I would love to try their sweaters and a pair of jeans, and I think now might be the time to do so! Today for Cyber Monday, they are having 25% off with the code SHOPALLDAY. I am obsessed with this sweater, and I hear so many fashion bloggers talk about these jeans.

Happy shopping, and I hope you have a wonderful week. I’ll be back later on this week with a post about my pre-marathon and marathon fueling strategy I used for the NYC Marathon.

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
