Favorite Spring Outfits

It’s hardly even spring here yet, sadly. Usually May is my favorite month because it finally starts to warm up (April can still be pretty cold.), most days are pretty sunny and dry (versus the end of summer, which is often overcast and rainy a lot of the time), the flowering trees start to bloom, and we are finally done with winter! However, this May it has been cloudy, cool, and rainy. Boo! I am just hoping this is not predicative of the summer we are going to have!

But I do have a bunch of spring outfits that I’m loving and wanted to share with you guys!

I have been living in these leggins since I purchased them, and I can’t believe how comfortable they are! They have the perfect amount of “hugged” sensation, they don’t fall down, and I love the color-blocking pattern. I haven’t tried running in them, but the website says they are designed for yoga so I don’t intend to run in them much–if at all. The waistband is a high rise, which I have grown to like a lot more over the years, and the color blocking is a dark gray, light gray, and white pattern.

I don’t think people really abide by the ‘no white before Memorial Day’ adage anymore. I know I haven’t! I wore this outfit last week to church because if the weather isn’t spring, I’m at least going to pretend it’s spring. I held off purchasing a chambray shirt for a while, looking for just the right one, and this one really does hold true to it’s name ‘perfect fit.’ The length is perfect, the fit is awesome, and I really like the wash.

I am obsessed with these earrings. This is my first pair of fringe earrings, and I think they are so fun! I love the rose gold color and for some reason I really like big earrings. (Most of my other jewelry is on the small, dainty side.)

The mornings are still chilly in the 40s here, so I have been loving this super soft, slightly-thicker long sleeve shirt. It has thumbholes, which are perfect for the start of my run, but then once I warm up, I don’t have to worry about carrying gloves. Plus it is also on sale! My headband is fleece-lined and great for chilly mornings. They also make non-fleeced lined ones, which I’ve been thinking about getting. If you missed my post on my current running shoe rotation, these shoes are my new favorite shoes to run in! Cushioned (but not too soft), secure heel cup, and a snug midfoot fit.

I never thought I would be one for high-waisted jeans, but I am in love, and I’m not sure I could go back! These jeans are incredibly comfortable, and I know I will be wearing them a ton! My shirt is currently on sale for almost 50% off and a perfect color for spring.

I did a poll on Instagram stories, and it was an overwhelming ‘yes’ to purchase this Patagonia pullover. I have worn this pullover multiple times already. I love it because the body length is perfect, and the sleeve lengths are actually long enough for me! These tights are hands-down my favorite tights for running and casual wear! You probably noticed that I’ve also pulled out the Birkenstocks for the “spring” weather.

I went for an easy 6 mile run this morning, and while my hip bursitis still isn’t 100%, it is on the mend! My hamstring and glute felt much better as well, thankfully. I’m going to have some ART (active release technique) done tomorrow, which was really helpful for my hip flexor injury, so hopefully it will be effect this time around as well!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
