#1 in Foods

I love picking up new things at the grocery store each week. In the past couple of weeks I’ve found some winners and some duds.

#1 for best taste: Kashi Country Cheddar Snack Crackers

Oh man, are these addicting! They are definitely better than Cheeze-its, hands-down.

#1 for the most expensive item

Craig loves kale chips, but why do they have to be so expensive. Sheesh! These weren’t labeled at the grocery store, but I wasn’t expecting them to be $8.00! They are good though.

#1 largest cracker

I bought these crackers from Costco. I didn’t realize they were the size of both of my hands put together. I do really like them though. The rosemary is a nice change of pace from the other crackers I usually eat. DSC_0006

#1 worst tasting cracker

(Obviously I really love my crackers.) I don’t know what I was thinking when I picked these up. Did I actually think they would taste good?DSC_0007

#1 thing I wasted my money on

I picked up this on a whim at the running store. I didn’t need it. It is nice to add some flavor to my water after running in order to get more liquids pumping back through my body. But other than that, I didn’t think this was anything special. DSC_0008

#1 item I wish was cheaper

These Picky Bars aren’t cheap, but I do like them. And sometimes it is nice not to think about getting the right ratio of protein to carbs post-run, which is why I love Picky Bars. I had this after a long run when I had to rush to get ready and off to my next adventure one Saturday. DSC_0010

#1 most calorie-dense “granola bar”

I picked this up at REI because it was on sale. I liked it, Craig thought it was disgusting, but he really isn’t a “granola” bar kind of guy anyhow.

It practically is a meal coming in at 370 calories for the whole bar. I split it into two servings. DSC_0018

#1 sweetest item

Oh man this was good, but it was basically a compressed waffle saturated in sugar. But then again that’s what you want mid-run/bike. I had half of this before heading out for a run one morning.

I’m working towards 80 miles this week. Everything has been going quite well. I just completed a track workout tonight that I am already feeling the effects on my backside. I ran some 400s and 200s in preparation for my 5K in a couple of weekends.

Catch ya later!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

Hahahah those lentil crackers are some of my very favorite crackers! But maybe it’s because I haven’t had normal, not-gluten-free crackers in two years!

Haha! I thought I liked them at first, but then I wasn’t a fan. We really don’t have the same taste because my least favorite protein powder was your favorite. Oh well, I still like you. 😉

I have one of the Pro Bars and Bee Stinger things to try. The most expensive item I like in the store are fresh beets. They are usually $3.00 for a “bundle” of 3, maybe a pound?
I can’t grow them in my garden very well, so that may be why they are so expensive. But my god, it’s just a root veggie like carrots.
