Social Saturday

You guys seriously rock my world! I was not expecting the kind of response I received on my last post about keeping up this little blog of mine.

As I think about the real reasons why I have thought about giving up my blog and consider the comments people made, I think lack of time is the biggest reason for wanting to give up on my blog. I figure if I can’t put in the necessary time to blog at least a couple times a week, what’s the point? But I have to remind myself that it is okay if I can only blog a few times a month, there are more important things in life than blogging. . . . and people will still continue to read what I write.

I had quite the social day on Saturday. I am definitely an introverted person, so I am very content spending time by myself, but it is also nice to do things with others.

Saturday afternoon I was invited to a baby shower. I can’t remember the last time I was to a baby shower! Love all the festive decorations and party favors. Each box was filled with gummy bears.

The parents are not going to find out if the baby is a boy or girl, so the cake was very appropriate.

As with any party, there was an array of delicious food.

We had a lot of foods from different ethnicities since our church has people who have come from places all over this world. There were dolmas (grape leaf wrapped rice rolls), bacon-wrapped liver, tabbouleh, and hummus that doesn’t even compare to store-bought hummus.DSC_0022

The mother-to-be opening gifts and reading sweet cards. This will be baby #4 for this mom!

For one of the games we played, we had to guess the circumference of mom’s belly. I was not even close—I guessed way to big. DSC_0024

Saturday night we had friends over for game night. Craig and I bought the game Pandemic last weekend and played it ourselves, but playing with friends is always better.

In this game, all the players work together to stop the spread of diseases throughout the world.

We had a few snacks to munch on while playing. I made Sarah’s Buffalo Pretzels, which we super delicious and a big hit! I would highly recommend them for your next party.

Since I am a health-nut, I also had a bowl of apple slices.

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

Sounds like you found a win win solution…cutting back the number of posts to meet your needs, but keeping the blog for us readers. Sounds great!
