Christmas Gifts for Runners

If there is a runner in your life who is in need of a running-related Christmas gift, fret no more. I’ve compiled a list of some of my favorite running products!

BIC Bands

These seriously do not slip at all! This skinny sparkle gunmetal one is my favorite.

Race hanger for medals

Sadly I think most runners box up their medals and never (proudly) display them. Now you can give them a way to brag about their successes when people come over to your hourse. Or if you are really crafty, I’m sure you could make this yourself.

Hanger for race bibs

I seriously need to get something like this for myself!

Coasters with Race Bibs

Another great idea for those old race bibs.

Headphones

I can’t say I’ve personally tried these out, but I have heard go things about Yurbuds.

Subscription to Runner’s World magazine

I honestly read my Runner’s World magazine cover-to-cover each month. Even as a pretty experienced runner, I pick up on new things each issue.

Compression socks

I have a pair of the progressive white CEP compression socks and absolutely love them. I highly recommend them! I wear them while running and during recovery as well. (Read my review here.)

Garmin

I would recommend any of the Garmin Forerunners—their GPSs for running. I have the 405 and highly recommend it. (You can read my review here.)

Garmin also came out with a Forerunner 10 that is a little more simple but does everything I ever use my watch for anyway: tracking my mileage, pace, and overall time.

A destination vacation race

Take your loved one on a vacation and allow them to run a race in the area during the trip as well.

Anything from Lululemon

If you have not been introduced to Lululemon clothes, you must check them out. Yes, they carry a pretty hefty price tag, but I get so much more wear out of these clothes any other brands.

These are two of my favorite items I’ve purchased:

You can’t go wrong with a Scuba Hoodie. They are comfortable, warm, and very cute.

I also love my Wunder Under Crops for yoga, running, and I even wear them as leggings with my riding boots on a regular basis. I love that the leg openings stay down and don’t slide up towards my knees. I would love another pair in this pattern or the light gray color.

And for the guys. . . .a 5 Year Basic Tee. This is one of Craig’s favorite shirts to wear. It is long enough for his torso and the fabric is super comfortable. Screen shot 2012-12-12 at 5.35.21 AM

Christmas will be here before you know it, so get going and support your loved one in their crazy habit of running. Hey, it helps us stay sane! 🙂

Please add a comment below sharing your favorite running item!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

I love that race bib hanger and the coasters! What a great idea! Can I add another one to your list, because I just bought it for a runner friend of mine who borrowed it and loved it: combination compression/icepack gear from 110% Play Harder. I have the knee blitz sleeve and I love it. Perfect for when you have a hectic day without a chance to do an ice bath.

I could use one for my glute right now! It would be perfect for icing at work.

Compression socks are the.best.ever! After reading your review on them a while ago, I bought one pair, and after trying them out a day or two, I went on to order 4 more pairs! I have them in all colours. I wear them every day, at work (the black pair!) and at running and at home. I only take them off at night!
I can understand the Garmin craze, lots of runners want to know their exact pace and mileage for every training session. Personally I prefer listening to my body and running every time what my body can handle. All Garmin data would ruin the fun for me, but for others they could act as motivation. I hope your running is getting better and you are healing well.

Awesome! I love my compression socks as well and need to get them in another color. Yeah, if you aren’t concerned with your time, there’s no need for a Garmin. . . run “naked!”
