Chicken and Biscuits

I am loving the lack of snow we are having; it makes winter much more tolerable! But unfortunately I don’t think it is going to last because the s-word is in the forecast for this weekend. What frustrates me the most is that I haven’t been able to run for the past month on this dry pavement because of my bum glute.

I gave this stick-on nail polish from Sally Hansen a try, but I failed miserably at applying the stickers on my fingernails. I did my best to follow the directions, but I still struggled to make my nails look pretty. I was also really hoping the nail polish would stay on longer than the two or three days that regular nail polish last, but unfortunately this did not stay on any longer. I think the biggest thing that causes my nail polish to chip off early is due to hand-washing dishes most nights of the week.

I tried a new slow-cooker recipe tonight that tasted just like the classic Banquet pot pies.

I have to admit though, I am not a fan of the Banquet pot pies, so I wasn’t that impressed with this recipe. It was super easy though and smelled good, so if you like pot pies, definitely give this recipe a try!

I followed the recipe for Chicken and Biscuits from the Better Homes and Garden website.

I even made homemade cheddar biscuits that were super easy.

After making this, it got me to thinking about other foods I liked as a kid. For instance. . . . Lunchables!

I used to beg my mom to buy Lunchables for me. She never did though because she said she could cut up meat and cheese at home and give me some crackers to go with them. But that’s not the same!

Question

What was something you begged your mom to buy for you as a kid?

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

My parents were the same way with Lunchables! Now I have cheese, crackers, and sausage for lunch on occasion. 🙂

as a kid, i always wanted prepackaged stuff. i thought it was so cool! haha. i did get pizza lunchables as a treat- i never liked the regular ones because i’m not a big lunchmeat fan.

Isn’t it funny how the prepackaged things were oh-so-cool back then. But maybe again, they probably still are?? I think I only pretended to like Little Debbie snacks (Ho Hos and Oatmeal Cream Pies) because I was supposed to. I also remember I wouldn’t eat anything but baby carrots, and now I don’t like baby carrots–I want to whole carrot, fresh out of the ground. 🙂

I always wanted Gushers! And Lunchables were pretty awesome too. We got them once a year, when we had a track and field day in a nearby town with other local schools.
