Weekend Happenings

Productive weekends with a little fun thrown in are the best. 🙂

Friday night starting out with friends, dinner, and a movie; a great way to end the work week.

Craig and I—along with another couple—went to Bear Tooth Theater Pub for dinner and a movie. We first ate dinner in the restaurnt before going into the movie—although you can have your food served to you while watching the movie.

I ordered the Ranch Salad, which is definitely a favorite of mine.

After dinner, we saw The Bourne Legacy. Craig and I actually saw this movie a couple of months ago, but we didn’t mind seeing it again. I can do the type of action in this movies—what I don’t like are the movies with a lot of bloody, gory fight scenes.

It felt weird not doing a long run Saturday morning. Instead I went and ran errands at 10 a.m.—the time I normally start my long run. I kind of missed doing a long run, but it was nice to get my errands out of the way.

I went to Target and found some things I didn’t plan on buying. Oh wait, when doesn’t that happen at Target.

I don’t eat as much yogurt as I used to, and I’ve become really picky about which kind I’ll eat these days. But this Noosa Yoghurt is by far the best I’ve ever had. It beats any other brand I’ve tried: Chobani, Fage, etc., hands down!

Then I came across this and immediately thought of Skinny Runner and her love of dill pickles and dill-flavored foods.

And when I saw these, I thought of Hungry Runner Girl. Janae, (or anyone else) have you ever tried these??

I did buy these (along with some Sour Patch Kids) for Craig. Mmmm. . . .boogers.

I also got this card for Craig and thought of Tina (Carrots ‘n’ Cake). Craig’s parents have two pug dogs and Craig really wants one too.

Sunday we went to church, and then I went to a much-needed yoga class. I have not practiced yoga since this spring, but honestly I really have not missed it. I miss running like no other after about, oh, a day of not running. I miss being more flexible, but other than that I haven’t missed yoga that much. But since my glute has been bothering me and I’m in a transitional phase between marathon training plans, I figured it would be a good opportunity to get back to practicing. Plus, I’m hoping yoga will help heal my glute?? I don’t know if it will actually help, but I figure it is worth a try.

I ended up going to a 90 minute Bikram class. It felt so good to sweat it out! My body definitely loved the heat. (The room is heated to 105* and 40% humidity for those of you who are unfamiliar with the Bikram style.) About 30 minutes into the class everyone else was dripping with sweat, but I am not even sure I had broken a sweat yet.

Craig and I then ended the evening with a walk. And another great thing about this weekend: no Sunday blues! What a great feeling!!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
