Terra Bella

This afternoon, I met my friend Jen for a little lunch, so we could catch up on life since we hadn’t seen each other in a while. ๐Ÿ™‚ย

This was the first time either of us had been to Terra Bella, and we were both quite impressed!

We went to the location off Dimond Blvd., and the interior had a lovely cozy, modern feeling.

Terra Bella is a locally owned coffee shop, bakery, and cafe, featuring organic, fair trade coffee and fresh, homemade food.

I chose the 1/2 sandwich and house salad combo because I love having different options on my plate.

Terra Turkey Avocado Sandwich

roasted turkey, ripe avocado, cucumber, tomato, and tart cranberry cream cheese on honey wheat bread

I think the bread was the best part. It had to be homemade because it tasted just like homemade bread I’ve made before!

And a house salad—nothing special but still delicious.

My friend, Jen, ordered the Mediterranean Quinoa Salad, which I might have to get the next time I go.

Mediterranean Quinoa Salad

a blend of red bell peppers, olives, red onion, pine nuts, feta, and quiona on a bed of mixed greens dressed with balsamic vinaigrette

After eating, I was cold, so I ordered hot chocolate.

This was not your typical sugar-laden hot chocolate. Instead it tasted as though real chocolate was used, and it was not super sweet at all.

We hung out for quite a while talking about work, life, the weather, and dreaming about summer. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Prior to meeting Jen, I made it outside for a 5 mile run.

It wasn’t super cold, but still cold enough. I felt okay, but I think I was pretty hungry because my stomach hurt, so I called it quits after 5 even though I thought about going more.

I can tell my cold is still affecting my running, so I don’t want to push myself too much because I want to be able to do a lot of running next week during spring break. ๐Ÿ™‚

Tonight I am laying low. Craig is brewing beer with his dad, so I’m chilling by myself. I already made some granola, so I’m not sure what else the night holds.

Wishing you a wonderful weekend!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

We have a small cafรฉ around here that is very similar! I love their hot chocolate because it’s made with dark chocolate (i think) and it doesn’t overload on the sugar!

    Have a great weekend! ๐Ÿ™‚

Terra Bella… hmmm… I am also a Minnesota girl and I have never heard of Terra Bella. But I want to go there, pronto! What a fun place! And I’m new to your blog, but do you run outside all the time? I ran outside yesterday (about 4.5 miles) and I felt like I was going to die when I was done from the cold weather!!! I think I was a little ambitious on getting outside. Pass along your cold weather running tips, if you have any. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am originally from Minnesota but live in Alaska now, and Terra Bella is in Anchorage, AK–sorry for any confusion.

I pretty much run outside every day!

YES I could NOT live without carbs! I come home for Thanksgiving break my freshman year of college only to learn that my parents were on a no carb diet…I threw a HUGE fit and immediately went to restock the house with bread, bagels, cereal and crackers. ๐Ÿ™‚ I was much happier.
