Super Bowl Food Options

This is going to be a short because I’m wiped!!

I think being outside the past couple of day with my classes has made me especially tired the past two nights! (The reason a blog post did not happen yesterday.) Plus running outside once today and twice yesterday has me ready for bed at 9 p.m. on a Friday night! Sad, but true!

I took one class outside cross country skiing today and two kindergarten classes ice skating. Plus three classes sledding yesterday. Sounds fun, but it isn’t easy managing 20 first graders (by yourself) on a sledding hill–oy vey!

~~~~~~
This morning I let myself sleep in until 5:45 a.m., and then went for a nice 5 mile run.
I thought my legs would be pretty tired from yesterday’s 11 miles (7 in the a.m., 4 in the p.m.), but they seemed to have recovered quite well.
After my run, I debated about not showering this morning. As as p.e. teacher, I feel so sloppy that I have to wear “sweats” all day, I figure what’s the point in showering or doing my hair?!?!
I know, I know, many of you are probably envious of me, but I was always that person who “dressed-up” for school: I did my hair–usually putting hot curlers in my hair every morning before school in high school–and wearing nice clothes every day. I really miss being able to dress up more!!
~~~~~~

With Super Bowl parties right around the corner, I thought I’d include some of my favorite recipes that could be served for the big game!

Curried Cran-Orange Snack Mix

Salmon Chowder (Maybe not exactly Super Bowl worthy, but still a recipe you should definitely try soon!)

Soft Whole Wheat Dinner Rolls (These could be used as buns and filled with shredded meat, burgers, or made into sloppy joes.)

Monster Cookies

Black Bean Brownies

Enjoy your weekend!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

    i’ve had black bean brownies before and they are so TASTY!

    i understand completely with the wanting to dress up more. i had a job in an office for a few years and i was all about high heels, and looking put together. as a teacher (math, no p.e.) i’m on my feet more so i’ve retired the heels…and even though i still “dress up” i feel more sloppy wearing flats. now i only wear heels to church…and only if i don’t have a long run….i miss it too!

      Yes, black bean brownies are delicious!!

      Yeah! I’m glad I’m not the only one who likes to dress up!! I feel silly complaining about it, but I enjoy looking nice; it makes me feel more confident!
