Pizza & Sweets

Up until 5:00 p.m. last night, we didn’t have any plans, but our impromptu, semi-date night turned out to be a good one! 🙂 Plus, how can you go wrong with pizza and sweet treats!?!?

We started with a little homemade pizza action.

(Don’t mind our 80s inspired cupboards and oven. I really despise it and can’t wait to live in a place that’s more updated!)

Hawaiian (deli turkey meat + pineapple) on one half, veggie on the other (zucchini, tomatoes, yellow pepper).

Then my sweet tooth was needing to be fed, so we headed to the best place in town to get some sweet treats: Sugarspoon!!

We couldn’t believe our eyes when we saw they were offering 50% off everything (except whole pies) in celebration of their 3rd anniversary!!

They were even giving mini cupcakes and free coffee away!! What a pleasant surprise!

Hot chocolate for my hot date!

Craig’s dessert: Pear Frangipane Tart

Almond pear tart served warm with red wine gastrique

Incredibly delicious!

Don’t be afraid; I’m just really excited.

I ordered a Strawberry Shortcake Sundae from the kid’s menu:

Vanilla ice cream, cake, strawberry sauce, whipped cream and sprinkles

So simple, yet ice cream and whipped topping that was out of this world–and just the right amount for me.

Today’s activities have been filled with church, grocery shopping, and cleaning. Tonight we are chilling and taking it easy since we both don’t have to work tomorrow!! Super excited to sleep in, have a little breakfast before running, and then spending time with Craig and friends! Should be a good one!

Oh, and by the way, it was -10* here today!!! SO COLD!! I don’t know how I ever survived Minnesota winters where the windchill caused it to be -20, -30, and even colder!!!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
