Baking Extravaganza

Ya know what? I’m totally content staying home on a Saturday night and spending it in the kitchen.

Sure, it isn’t the most glamorous thing being covered in flour, but I’m okay with that.

Sometimes I like to bake in silence, other times the music is cranked. I figure a dance party in my kitchen saves me from embarrassing myself in front of others at a club or something. . . but then again it isn’t like I would ever go to a club anyhow.

Any free time I had this weekend was spent in the kitchen baking. I lead a pretty exciting life, huh?

Here’s what I made:

Easy Whole Wheat Crackers

The hot spots in my oven became very evident. What can I say, the oven dates itself back to, oh, 1970–and that’s no lie!

My favorite ones are the ones that are extra burnt on the edges!

I didn’t know what to expect homemade crackers to taste like, but I was happy with how they turned out. They had a nice crunch to them and quite flavorful.

They aren’t your standard Wheat Thin, but that’s okay because I had some Wheat Thins the other day, and I couldn’t believe how gross they tasted.

Apple Muffins

These muffins were like eating a piece of cake–light, fluffy, and sweet!

The pecan topping was the best part!

And another successful batch of Pumpkin Apple Muffins.

These were much more dense than the previous recipe, but I love how hearty they are.

Fifteen Minute Oatmeal Scones

Now that my hands are dried out and wrinkly from doing so many dishes, it is time to give them a break for a while.

See ya later!
