Capri Running Tights

Once again I decided to wait until the afternoon to run, and I’m sure glad I did because it was 24 degrees here this morning!! Brrr!!!

Two hours before going out for my run, I had this Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Larabar.

I have a sweet tooth, but even this guy was a bit sweet for an afternoon, pre-run snack. Don’t get me wrong, the flavor was really good, but I wasn’t expecting the extra sweetness!

I did a nice little 5-miler this afternoon as soon as I got home from work. Craig joined me on his bike, which always pushes me to run faster, but I’m not complaining!

Dinner

After running, I always make sure to include a good amount of protein and carbs.

protein: Morning Star Grillers California Turk’y Burger (9 g of protein)

carbohydrates: English muffin (25 g carbohydrates)

I topped half of the English muffin with lettuce, the veggie burger, tomato slices, and salsa. I had the other half of English muffin with Laughing Cow Cheese spread on it.

I was pleasantly satisfied with this veggie burger. Despite being a fake meat burger, I thought it was quite decent. The salsa topping was a good choice!

A small bowl of ice cream, peanut butter, and chocolate chips to satisfy my sweet tooth. 🙂

After reviewing my long-sleeve running tops, it is now time to review my running capris.

Nike

These are loose and super comfy. They aren’t my favorite for running in because the extra material swishes against the other leg, but for a shorter runs I can tolerate them. They are great for lounging around in or lifting weights at the gym!

Nike

I’ve had these gray Nike capris forever (since college), but I still wear them a lot! The material is soft and the fit is just right. The only thing I don’t like about them is the higher rise on my waistline, but I just roll them down, and I’m good to go.

Nike

I purchased these capris last spring and love them! The rise on my waist is low and the cut is awesome. I love the little reflectors on the bottom.

Asics

I like these Asics capris as well. The waistline is low and there’s a nice pocket in the back to stash my key.

In other news, I signed up for the Zombie Half-Marathon here in Anchorage next weekend ~ Saturday, October 23. Kind of last minute, but I have trouble making decisions sometimes.

I did this race last year as well, and it was a nice little, low-key race. It was cold, but it was fun seeing people in zombie and Halloween costumes. I’m not much of one to dress up for a race since

a.) it requires creativity, which I don’t have, to come up with a costume,

b.) you have to run in a costume for more than an hour and a half, and

c.) you have to run in a costume.

We’ll see, maybe I’ll cave to peer pressure. 😉

Question

If you were going to wear a costume for a race, what would you wear?

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

You could go easy – just wear all black, add some ears (and maybe even a tail), whiskers with mascara and you are a black cat! That wouldn’t be too crazy to run in.

Yum, ice cream with chocolate and peanut butter is like my fave sundae. The only thing I would add is a banana.

To answer your question, if I had to wear a costume in a race I’d wear something ridiculous like a wonder woman costume because I like randomness and comedy, and this costume would certainly fit both of those categories. I’d probably be laughing so hard I’d forget how hard the race was!

Cute blog, just found it : )

i’ve never run in costume but i think it’d be kinda fun, as long as you didn’t have to take the race too seriously… i.e. don’t run a marathon in costume while trying to BQ 🙂

on that note- i think i’d like to run in a tutu 🙂
