Some of My Favorites

After running 11 miles yesterday, my stomach has been a bottomless pit today! I have been eating all day but never seem to feel full. It seems like a good thing, but frankly I am just tired of eating already!

These are just some of the things I’ve eaten today.

Whole Grain Glory Muffin and Yogurt Bowl

Yogurt Bowl:

– Nancy’s Low-fat Plain Yogurt

– Mango

– Chia seeds

– Shredded coconut

– Nature’s Path Granola

Whole Grain Glory Muffins (These are awesome! I’ve gotten many compliments on them!)

Almond butter banana sandwich on an Oroweat Sandwich Thin.

Veggies–since I didn’t have a single one yesterday!

I don’t think the people at Food Should Taste Good are capable of making bad chips. All of the flavors I’ve tried (Lime, Sweet Potato, Multigrain) are dynamite! The Works chips tasted similar to an “everything bagel.” I liked the poppy and caraway seeds, but don’t get too close to anyone because your breath won’t be very pleasant from the minced garlic and onion flavors!

Don’t worry, I have had WAY more than this to eat today!

Now moving on to some of my favorite things.

I’ve highlighted some of my favorite foods and running-related items before:

Brand of Greek yogurt

Meal of the Day

Summertime Foods

Running shorts

Running top

But now it is time to share with you some of my non-related food and running attire favorites.

Neutrogena 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment

Before applying any make-up in the morning, I first moisturize with this lotion. I love it because it is so light and does not leave a sticky residue on my face. It dries quickly and provides a nice foundation for applying my make-up.

Clinque Products

– Clinique Pore Minimizer: If your skin becomes oily or shiny throughout the day, check this stuff out. It does wonders!

– Super Balanced Foundation: moisturizes dry patches and absorbs oily areas of your skin–an amazing product!

– Super Balanced Powder: same idea as the foundation. I love the natural look it gives my skin.

Maybelline Full ‘n Soft Mascara

I have been using this mascara for quite some time now. I love the natural look it gives to my lashes–not clumpy or stiff. I will often use another type of mascara though for a bolder look–if that’s what I’m going for.

Tresemme Hairspray

I have been using this hairspray for several years as well and love how it gives my hair a light, non-sticky spray. I use this hairspray for achieving a natural look and have another kind for holding my hair in place longer if need be.

Aveda Pure Abundance Hair Potion

I have fine, straight hair that is  difficult to style, but this product gives my hair a “dirty” feel that allows me to actually tease my hair and give it some volume.

Aveeno Ultra-Calming Night Cream

When I wake up in the morning, my skin is velvety smooth after applying this the previous night. It isn’t too heavy and has a nice light fragrance.

Question:

What are some of your favorite beauty products?

I’m always willing to try new products, so fill me in on a few of your own!!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

Hi Michelle! I am also a big fan of Clinique — I don’t think I will ever go back to any other makeup product. I definitely have sensitive and acne-prone skin and it doesn’t seem to bother me at all. Speaking of acne, I swear by Proactiv! That stuff really does work. It took a little time for my skin to adjust to it, and I still get occasional breakouts, but overall my skin has really improved. They also have great daily lotion with spf, and I like the daily oil control.

I also like Aveda products, even if they are a little spendy. I have fine hair, too, so I might have to try that product you listed. Although my hair has some curl/frizz to it so I wonder if it would make that part worse??

I would recommend any of the Dove body-washes, they all smell super good and my skin is also so soft!

Thanks for all the great info./advice!!

The “Pure Abundance Hair Potion” by Aveda is not an “all-over” product. I mainly use it on the top of my head (and then tease my hair) to give it some volume.

I’ll have to try the Dove body washes! Thanks!!
