Running in the Rain

No amount of rain was going to keep me from completing my run today! I really don’t mind running in the rain; I will take rain over snow ANY day!!

And thanks to the hat I wore today, it made running in the rain quite bearable.

Before taking off on my run, I had a yogurt bowl.

My yogurt bowl contained:

– plain low-fat yogurt

– fresh strawberries

– chia seeds

– Kashi Heart-to-Heart Cinnamon Oat Cereal

– shredded coconut

– peanut butter

– agave nectar

For today’s workout, I ran to a high school track we live near to do a ladder workout.

Today’s ladder workout: 400, 800, 1200, 800, 400 (all in meters)

– 2 mile warm-up with some plyometrics: 16:33

– 400: 1:38

– 800: 3:25

– 1200: 5:15

– 800: 3:25

– 400: 1:34

– 3 mile cool-down: 24:00

Total time: 56:00

Overall, it was a really good workout. I enjoy changing up my workout and going to the track for some speed work. I know some people really dislike it. But I like it!

Breakfast #2/Lunch

Green Monster

– soy milk

– 1/2 frozen banana

– soy protein powder

– shredded coconut

– chia seeds

– vanilla extract (this was the key ingredient)

– lots of spinach

I also had half of a multi-grain bagel with Laughing Cow Cheese and some strawberries. (I had more strawberries while preparing everything.)

Then I was craving something salty, so I had approximately one serving of Goldfish. And within a relatively short period of time, my stomach was not satisfied, so I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich that was consumed before my camera remembered to take a picture. 😛

Now I just need to work at combing through this mess. My pin-straight hair always gets tangled when I run in the rain.

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.
