Fishy!

Last night I picked Craig up from the airport. He had been in Southeast Alaska for work, so it is good to have him back home!

This morning I ran 4 miles before breakfast. I didn’t feel quite up to par, but there wasn’t anything in particular that was bothering me either–just feeling a little more sluggish than usual.

When I got back, I couldn’t decide if I wanted cold cereal or warm oatmeal. For whatever reason, oatmeal won out.

– 1/4 cup old-fashioned oats, milk, and water

– 1/2 banana, sliced

– chia seeds

– fresh blueberries

– sliced almonds

– drizzle of agave nectar

– almond butter

I also had a piece of Oat Flax Walnut Bread that I toasted and spread with a some Laughing Cow Cheese.

Last weekend, Craig and I went camping and Craig did some fishing as well. Since then, Craig hasn’t driven his car, so as he was getting in his car to go to work this morning–after being gone, he smelled something a “little fishy!!” Um, yes, fresh salmon may or may not have been left in his car for about 5 days!!! I don’t know if that smell will ever get out of the car!!! It is quite awful!!

My breakfast didn’t hold me over as long as I hoped it would–probably due to the lack of protein–so my mid-morning snack was a Tropical Smoothie with some protein powder.

– soy milk

– 1/2 banana

– 1/2 mango

– vanilla soy protein powder

– shredded coconut

– vanilla extract (I think I liked vanilla rather than the almond extract.)

I also snacked on some Goldfish Grahams. These guys are going to be hard to keep my hands off!!

Sweet, cinnamony, and crunchy. . . so delicious!!

I’m off to go have lunch with Craig! See you later!!

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

You could try wiping it down with pine sol. Yes, then your car will smell like pine sol but you have to decide which smell you like better, pine sol or fish.

I asked the “cleaning experts” (Wayne and Bette) what you could use to get the “fishy” smell out of the car. They suggested vinegar and water. You could try 1 cup of vinegar to a gallon of water. This can be used to wipe down the inside of the car. You could also put it in a spray bottle and spray it on to wipe down the car. They also suggested putting baking soda in containers in the car like you would in your refrigerator. You could maybe also sprinkle the baking soda on the floor mats.
