To Cruise or Not to Cruise

It was so nice to be able to sleep in this morning and catch up on some much-needed sleep from this weekend of camping. I even woke up from a dream where Kara Goucher and I were BFFs!!

I don’t remember too much, but it started with us meeting at a wedding reception (random, I know) and spending the rest of the day hanging out with one another. While I don’t exactly remember what we did or what we talked about, I do remember that we really clicked with each other. The next day we were at a track meet she was competing in, and I remember thinking, “maybe she could score me a free pair of Nike shorts since I am in need of another!!” It is fun to dream, right?

After my wonderful dream, it was time to complete my run for the day. A 4-mile run was on the plan for today, so it was quick and went well. I accidently forgot my watch, so I don’t know how long it took me, but I’ve done the route countless times and know it is 4 miles.

Even before I started my run, I was hungry, so after about 10-15 minutes of stretching, I assembled a quick breakfast for my rumbling stomach.

Kashi Heart-to-Heart Warm Cinnamon Oat Cereal with organic low-fat milk and fresh blueberries sprinkled on top.

The cereal was slightly sweet and full of cinnamon flavor. I strongly dislike soggy cereal, so was very happy the last bites were just as crunchy as the first ones.

And a Blueberry Banana Muffin with Trader Joe’s Almond Butter with Roasted Flaxseed. Love this combination!

The rest of my day was pretty uneventful, so I don’t have much else to blog about. So, being a native of Minnesota, “when you don’t have anything else to talk about, talk about the weather!!”

Once again it is raining here. It has been very cloudy and rainy this summer. 🙁

I really don’t mind the rain every once and a while, but after a while it can get depressing, so I hope the gray skies clear tomorrow.Question

What are your thoughts on taking a cruise for a vacation?

Craig and I have considered going on a cruise as a future vacation but we have differing opinions about them, so I am curious to know what your thoughts are.

If you have gone on a cruise, what did you think? What are the pros and cons? Would you go on another?

If you have not gone on a cruise, do you want to? What have you heard about them?

Hi, I'm Michelle

I love running around the lakes of Minnesota, running after my two boys, and racing anything from the 5K to the marathon. I have been blogging here since 2010 when I ran my first marathon. I finally secured my sub-3 hour marathon after trying for 8 years.

Loving the “blueberry banana muffin”! I was thinking this morning I need to bake this weekend and with blueberries being in season and on sale I think I might just try these

If you are going to cruise, cruise with Carnival they are super fun and priced well. My family has cruised with them for years. Note- that anything out of Florida or 7 days attracts an older crowd of 50-60+.
