Found!

June 13, 2010

You guys have no idea how excited I am!! As I read various blogs, I pay attention to particular brands of food that several people eat, and the Chobani brand of greek yogurt seems to dominate. For several months, I have searched high and low in Anchorage for Chobani yogurt since so many people rave about it.

Well, I have finally found it!!

I was SO excited. Plus, it was on sale–and I had a coupon from Chobani’s website!! (You can find the coupon here.) The original price was $1.99 but it was on sale for 2/$3, and my coupon was for Buy 2, Get 1 Free. I was only going to get 3, but since there were 4 flavors, I couldn’t decide, so I just picked up one of each flavor. This means I paid an average of $1.13 for each one!! Love it!!

Check out the Nutrition Facts:

– 140 calories

– very little sodium

– 19 grams of sugar (which is a moderate amount–many brands have 30+ grams)

– and 14 grams of protein!

The higher amount of protein (compared to “regular” yogurt) is the biggest reason I eat Greek yogurt. I don’t eat a lot of meat in my diet, so I have to find other sources.

Now I just have to decide which flavor to eat first!!

Last night, I suggested to Craig we head to Sugarspoon for a little treat. He quickly agreed! Sugarspoon it a pretty hip and trendy dessert shop with some amazing sweet treats!!

Raspberry Lemon Panna Cotta

Description: Raspberry sauce & cornmeal crisp
The texture of this was halfway between mousse and ice cream, and the flavor was full of raspberry scruptiousness. We both really liked this dessert!!

Forbidden Black Rice Pudding

Description: Cooked in coconut milk & cardamom, with strawberry lime sauce

This dessert is so divine! It is a combination of black rice; warm, sweet strawberry sauce; and toasted coconut. We have had this before and has become a favorite of our’s.

    1. You sound like me. It is so funny when you live somewhere where you feel behind in getting things. We had the same situation when we lived in London. I remember being so excited by food products several times. Glad it meets your expectations. That’s the best.
